Yoga Training

Yoga is a great discipline for training both the body and mind, as it teaches you to become grounded and centred on yourself. For one hour you'll no longer be focused on outward satisfaction, but on inner awareness. Though many think of yoga only as a physical exercise where people twist, turn, stretch, and breathe in the most complex ways, these exercise are actually only the most superficial aspect of this discipline helping you to unfold the potentials of mind and body working as one. The science of Yoga imbibes the complete essence of the Way of Life. We want to continue the ethos of our studio across our Yoga programme which means:

  1. Yoga will be taught following its guiding principles to make sure it works the body and mind for combined wellbeing
  2. Everyone is welcome from beginner to experienced and as the sessions are kept small and intimate adapted towards that individual so we can cope with injuries
  3. Progress as an individual is paramount and we will move to challenge and progress you to achieve more in a friendly, motivational way

The Background

Yoga is a 5000+ year old Indian mind and body practice. Around 2000 years ago an Indian sage is believed to have collated the knowledge into one book, now known as the Yoga Sutra. It outlines eight limbs of yoga: the yamas (restraints), niyamas (observances), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration), dhyani (meditation), and samadhi (absorption). Yoga has filtered down through the ages and in recent history was brought to the western world by such famous names as Swami Vivekananda, Sri Krishnamacharya, and B.K.S Iyengar. In the West, yoga classes have tended to focus on the Asana (postures), probably due to our obsession with physical perfection. However, in recent years more and more practitioners are exploring the other 7 limbs and the benefits of more inward practices in helping with a variety of issues from depression, stress and other mental health issues.

The Benefits

From a physical point of view, Yoga offers strength, flexibility, increased range of motion, coordination, improved focus, enhanced cardiovascular health, as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being. However, the benefits don't stop there. From a mental point of view, Yoga is unlike regular fitness classes; the inward focus, connecting the mind, body, and breath, helps you to recognise habitual thought patterns, movement patters and emotional patterns. Yoga teaches you to accept what you find without judgement. Yoga teaches us self-acceptance and acceptance of others. We become more aware of our experiences from moment to moment.

The aim is to always leave the class feeling better than when you arrived!!

What we offer

Yoga Flow Group Class - This is all the goodness of Yoga and the Friday feeling thrown in. You will move through the yoga moves focussing on the breathe for a body and mind workout. In a quiet environment you will lengthen and strengthen the body through the poses. Finishing with restorative meditation and relaxation. Fridays 9.30am.

Private 121 Personal Training - This is Yoga taught at it's finest. In a 121 environment in our bright & airy studio perfect for the discipline of Yoga. You will receive a tailored approach to your individual needs and be taken on a path of progression to reap all the benefits Yoga has to offer. (can also be taught on a 122 ratio)

Personal Training

Private 121 Personal Training sessions £160/month for 4 or £280/month for twice a week
Private 221 Personal Training sessions £200/month for 4 or £360/month for twice a week

Class Membership Options

Your wellbeing membership can combine any Yoga and Pilates Class

4 Classes per month is £30 paid on the 1st of each month through our secure database

8 Classes per month is £50 paid on the 1st of each month through our secure database

PAYG option available where space permits at £7.50 per session, but will cease as classes become full
